Couture designer Teresa Lindsay’s life-long appreciation for textiles and quality clothing led her into her professional business career, where she represented hundreds of high-end international brands before launching her own line in 2015.
Inspired by shape, form, and flow, Lindsay creates an invisible line between where the fabric ends and the body begins; every design focuses on the female silhouette, and is an exclusive item. Aiming to make as few cuts as possible, Lindsay selects fabrics based on drape and texture to effortlessly move with the body. Lindsay’s innate knowledge of fit, flow, and creativity results in an elegant line that reflects the woman she is herself: strong, sensual, daring, and fearless.
Believing that sophistication, style, and shared values breed success, Lindsay works with eco mills in Canada, Italy, and India that favour an earth-friendly approach, including the use of natural dyes, solar power, and organic, reclaimed, recycled, and sustainable materials. Her personal eco-conscious design methods result in low waste, while still producing exquisite, quality garments, many of which have extensive hand finishes. For Fall 2015 Lindsay launches a custom line of women’s trousers in a pilot location and in 2016 production is planned in her own silk-chiffon natural-dye print fabric.
An advocate for community, Lindsay co-founded Vic42, which was established to celebrate people and where they live, as well as other charities. She continues to foster community by assembling a design team that is rooted in giving back and inspiring others.
Teresa Lindsay works and lives in British Columbia, Canada.
