Knitwear Artist Sally Omeme found her rhythm in knitting. Her Mom patiently taught her the beat of, “ In, around, under, off.” Proudly growing up in Central Alberta, she hoped on a plane with two suitcases to attend the John Casablancas Institute in 2011. A move that felt scary at the time only proved life changing. It was because of the love and support of her instructors they helped her realize her dream of becoming a knitwear designer.
Inspired while backstage of Eco Fashion Week Sally Omeme created her first two knitwear collections by up cycling different textiles, such as leather, suede, denim, and t-shirt materials and creating unique one of a kind pieces.
Often while knitting, Sally Omeme uses music to help her find inspiration, by helping her find a beat. and on occasion has been seen using her knitting needles as drum sticks.
