FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE |
April 11, 2010
VANCOUVER, April 11th, 2010 – The final day of Vancouver Fashion Week brings great variety to
spectators who’ve been packing the Empire Landmark Hotel for days. From self‐taught style

Having recently designed Isaac Tolu’s exclusive accessory line, currently in production in Paris,
she’s behind designs for Quicksilver and worked as a stylist on a Snoop Dog music video. The Fall
2010 collection shows strong inspiration from rock and roll, vintage and a love of colour.
Vancouver‐based designer Jen Cameron first became interested in fashion after finding her
grandmother’s 1949 sewing machine. Cameron’s graduating collection was inspired by the style
of Japanese art known as the “Floating World.” The clothing featured a Japanese cherry blossom
print, bows and band detailing. Invited to participate in Vancouver Fashion Week’s international
design competition, Cameron tied for first place in the People’s Choice Award, earning her a
place on the catwalk this season with her current collection, inspired by birds of prey and
featuring feathers and black silk.
Sarah Runnalls began designing her own clothes at age fourteen and hasn’t stopped since. Selftaught
and already selling her own creations, Runnells enrolled in Blanche MacDonald, taking
home an Outstanding Achievement Award in Design. Runnalls collection features elegant and
sophisticated eveningwear with gothic undertones. Feminine silhouettes and aristocratic details
define this dark collection.
Wilber Tellez stared his dream of becoming a designer at the age of 14 when he got accepted at
the Denver School of the Arts. Wail attending school he majored in costume design and
construction. After 4 years of stagecraft and design Wilber was contracted to work for the
international hotel company Club Med. At 18 Wilber was one of the youngest costume
designers working for Club Med. He had a successful 3 years with the company witch involved
designing, constructing and managing 22 new shows witch where featured in the Dominican
Republic, Bahamas, Guadeloupe, Ixtapa Mexico and Cancun. He is currently in Vancouver
attending LaSalle collage to get a diploma in Fashion Design.
Lori Dawn is a country girl at heart and a city girl by choice who has connected the dots between
classic aesthetic and rustic design. She views the world through an unorthodox lens of fortuity
and diligence. In the words of the one of her main idols Karl Lagerfeld, "Personality begins
where comparison ends."
Adrian Wu doesn’t design dresses, he solves problems with fabric. At just nineteen, his foray
into fashion is only a year old and yet is already catapulting him into the spotlight. Wu delivers a
collection that is bold and beautiful with elements that are like soft pieces of paper glued
together. Self‐taught and following his heart, Wu will leave Vancouver this summer to attend
the Istituto Marangoni in London.

MEN AND WOMEN SHARE THE RUNWAY ON DAY THREE AT VANCOUVER
FASHION WEEK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE |
April 10, 2010
VANCOUVER, April 10th, 2010 – Vancouver Fashion Week makes the transition from women’s to
men’s fashions as ultra feminine pieces from PORSCIATM lead the evening and a special Men’s
Showcase featuring Jason Dussault, closes out the night.
Day two gets underway at 6PM with PORSCIATM. Porscia Yeganeh, professionally known as
PORSCIA™, is an Iranian‐Canadian fashion designer who has become the epitome of classic
modern fashion. Early on, PORSCIA™ enriched her Ready‐to‐Wear collection by offering
coordinates for pieces to be combined freely. The delicacy of the colours, fabrics, and shapes
PORSCIA™ chooses is aimed at women who prefer a distinguished and fitting look in every
situation.
At 6:30PM, Retarded Velvet takes to the runway. The fledgling atelier is developing the language
of its aesthetic by fusing global culture, nature and the sublime. Their muse is the modern day
Tallulah Bankhead. Designers, Theresa James and Roger Prince, are influenced by Japanese
street style, classic Bollywood movies, blaxploitation and the Muppets, gospel house, electro
and glam metal, animism, la belle époque and surrealism.
Drew William returns to Vancouver Fashion Week at 7PM with his first women’s collection.
Starting out in photography at Emily Carr, William fell into fashion and found a market that was
going unsatisfied. Often unable to find clothes that suited his lifestyle and opinions, he designs
mainly for men, creating pieces that offer comfort, quality and individual identity. His fall 2010
collection features the first foray into women’s wear as he seeks to re‐interpret the female
silhouette.
Vancouver Fashion Week breaks for an hour to reset the venue for the already sold out Men’s
Showcase at 9:30PM, featuring Malicious Manor, Decadence and the Dussault and Deuce
collections from Jason Dussault.
Founded in the cultured streets of Montreal, Canada in the Fall of 2007, Malicious Manor tells a
story inspired by art, love and civilization. This sophisticated clothing brand has quickly
developed a large following that is made up of individuals who seek a more cutting‐edge and
radically distinctive look. Canadian born designer Steve Picciano sees Malicious Manor, "As a
specialization in the creation of aspiration and self‐expression." Malicious Manor tells a
beautiful yet twisted story through its rough and sophisticated high‐quality garments and will
continue to do so collection after collection.
Gord Gabel, the designer behind Decadence, moved to Vancouver 9 months ago to work with
Jason Dussault & Dussault Apparel. In assisting him with running the sales end of the business,
Gabel was inspired by Dussault and quickly filled his workbook with a lot of design ideas. With
Dussault’s encouragement, Gabel created his own line – Decadence – a collection inspired by
80's Hair Metal, Punk Rock and the "decadent" lifestyle of many 80's rock groups.
The highlight of the evening will certainly be the collections from Dussault. Jason Dussault has
been creating art all his life in many mediums, and over the last five years he has focused his
talent on the creation of Fashion. He is currently the Chief Creator for Dussault Apparel; Gene
Simmons MoneyBag; Vanity; and DEUCE Custom Ink. He has also done custom designs for
celebrities including The Black Eyed Peas, Gene Simmons, Criss Angel, Pam Anderson,
Nickelback, Dee Snider, Kat Von D, Flo Rida, and Todd McFarlane.
Jason has designed the world¹s most expensive Denim at $250,000.00; two Indy Cars; Flow
Snowboards; and one of the key merchandising logos and some of the clothing sold at Criss
Angels’ Believe Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas. The designs that have created the greatest
buzz for Jason have been his hoodies, which have coined him "The Hoodie King." His hoodies are
hand made in East Van and retail from $600 to $2,500. Over 5,000 hoodies have sold in the last
five years.
