Elephanatics vancouver fashion week fw16

Elephantasia is a collaboration between 13 different international designers previously featured in Vancouver Fashion Week to raise awareness and funds to expose and protect the African elephant along side alongside NOVICA of National Geographic and Elephanatics BC

96 Elephants die every day in Africa alone. At this rate they will be gone within our generation. The demand for ivory is directly correlated to their rapid decline. Just as fashion increases the demand for ivory it can also be used to slow the slaughter of these beautiful creatures.

Vancouver Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016 will premier Elephantasia 2016 on the runway March 19th.

ELEPHANATICS is the only elephant advocacy organization in British Columbia, Canada! Our mission is to help the long-term survival of African and Asian elephants by raising awareness and disseminating information regarding the enormous challenges and suffering elephants face in Africa’s poaching crisis and in Asia’s tourist trade.

DAVID SHELDRICK WILLDLIFE TRUST was born from one family’s passion for Kenya and its wilderness. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is today the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world, and one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa.

Produced By: AVA J. HOLMES, wildlife researcher for conservation and runway producer for her company A-DOT Productions L.L.C. focused on bringing mentorship, collaboration and sustainability into fashion through exhibitions like Elephantiasia.
